Canned Responses

We are planning to change our canned responses since they’re pretty tailored to UPSCR currently. Since you all are the ones using these every day, we’d love you to be a part of the process to create the buckets of canned responses as well as the canned responses themselves! This way, you’ll have the canned responses you find most helpful. If you would like to be a part of this process, please let Sharon know by Thursday. We will be working with and compensating the first 5 tutors who respond.

Rubric Updates

Rubric Changes

Thanks to everyone who participated in our live sessions today! We are excited to roll out the new rubric. Here is a detailed copy for you to review and here is the recording of our webinar.

Recap of next steps:

  • Within the next couple of weeks, we will switch over tutor workbooks and feedback to the new rubric.
  • Scores from June, July, and August will no longer impact level assignments for our next TGP cycle. Your level for this TGP cycle (June-August) will be the same for the next one (Sept-Oct). This will allow everyone to get practice with the new rubric without worrying about the impact on hours or rate.
  • Since this also negates our monthly bonuses, we’ll be giving a one-time 5% bonus to all tutors for the months of July and August.
  • We will release our first training next week.

Please leave any feedback in #new-rubric-feedback. We look forward to hearing what you think!

Tutor Spotlight

Next week, we will pick our next tutor spotlight. Please fill out the Tutor Spotlight Nomination form so we can continue to celebrate the amazing interactions you have with students! Reminder that there is a $25 reward for being featured!

Rubric Changes

Hi all,

Toward the end of the school year, we gathered feedback from students, teachers, and administrators about what’s going well at Yup and what could be improved.

We were excited that many of our newest schools found Yup to be an incredible resource and will continue to work with us into next year. They are impressed by the flexibility of the service and our tutors’ ability to teach anything to their students while holding a high bar for learning.

They also told us that session efficiency has been the biggest challenge for getting students to consistently use the platform. Many of you have shared similar concerns. Based on this feedback, we’ve decided to make changes to the current session rubric. We have been gathering input from TQMs over the last month. They’re excited about these changes, and we think you will be excited as well!

In order to explain and give you the opportunity to ask questions, we’ll be hosting two live sessions next Friday, July 9th at 8am and 3:15pm PT. If you can’t make either session, don’t worry! We’ll send out a recording afterward.

Thanks again for all you hard work over the last year. We look forward to seeing you next week!
