YUP COMPANY REBRAND

Our Product Team has been working hard to rebrand Yup with a new look and feel and we’re exited to share the updated website with you all!

In the past, Yup used bright colors, a fun unicorn icon and colloquial language to appeal to students. As many of you know, we are shifting our focus to target parents during the sales process. Therefore, we overhauled Yup’s image to create an identity that is appealing to both students and parents alike.

Check out the new look at Yup.com and as always, your feedback is welcome (and highly valued!)

HipChat Migration + Gave Answer Survey

REPLACING HIPCHAT WITH SLACK

Starting immediately, we will begin transitioning from HipChat to Slack, a team messaging service that recently purchased HipChat’s parent company. The Yup HQ team has been using the Slack platform for several years now and we think you will be pleased with the upgrade!

This week you will receive an email invite that will allow you to login to the new service. Use the reset password option to set your new password.

In early September we will be disabling the Yup HipChat server, so please make sure to create your new Slack account before then. Please let us know if you have questions or do not receive an invite email before September!

Autumn Schedules + Satisfaction Survey

AUTUMN SCHEDULES STARTING

Starting tomorrow, Monday August 20th, we will begin transitioning towards normal operations in preparation for the new school year. All tutors should have received their new schedules, but if you have issues with your assigned shifts or did not receive an email, please let us know ASAP.

This week, we are launching the Yup Tutor Experience Survey (link below)! The goal is to give our tutor community the ability to simply and anonymously provide feedback to the Yup Team on a regular basis to let us know how we are doing and what is working (or not working).

Gave Answer Update + Dispute Survey

GAVE ANSWER TAG – UPDATE

Thank you all for being a part of our Gave Answer Tag Experiment and giving us great feedback!

Based on the results, we want to flag three updates to the Gave Answer Tag that aim to improve both the tutor and student experience:

1. New Gave Answer Scoring as of Monday, August 6:

  • The Gave Answer tag will no longer result in a score of 0
  • Instead, tutors will receive a “No” for standards 1.2 and 3.1

3. Examples: Gave Answer Case Examples

  • Scenario #1
    The student is willing to participate, but discouraged by how long it’s taking for them to solve
  • Scenario #2
    The student has demonstrated the ability to complete a certain step earlier in the session
  • Scenario #3
    The student is checking answers that were reached before the session
