Policy Update: Ending Shift Reminder

Forget to end your shift? This will now count as a schedule infraction worth 1 strike.

imagesIt has happened to the best of us: Your shift is over, but you mistakenly close the browser with the dashboard time clock still ticking. It’s an easy mistake to make, but it creates unnecessary complications for the Scheduling Team.

Going forward, we will be enforcing a 1 strike infraction policy for instances of shifts not ending properly. Check out the Tutor Policies for a full list of schedule infractions.

Tried ending your shift but having dashboard issues? Let us know ASAP at scheduling@yup.com or tutor.support@yup.com so we can make sure it isn’t held against you.

Introducing: Concept Snapshot Library v1.0!

In a nutshell: The new Concept Snapshot Library, found at yupimages.imgur.com, has hundreds of topic-specific images that can be dragged onto your Tutor Whiteboard at a moment’s notice. Watch the video below and give it a test drive with the practice whiteboard!

Whether they’re used to generate “aha” moments or create long-term study aids, clear and informative pictures can have an enormous impact on student learning. Until now, you either had to draw them from scratch or download them from the web. Once you’ve had a chance to use the Concept Snapshot Library in real sessions, please be sure to let us know how useful you found it.

Important Notes: A few of the images are animated gifs that won’t stay animated on your whiteboard. However since they can be especially helpful, you can keep the animation by saving them to your system and uploading them with the “Send Image” button. Also, some images may appear to be missing information due to Imgur’s black background. Right-click these and “Open Image in New Tab” to see them on a white background. 

Again, we encourage you to send useful images to tutor.support@yup.com if you feel that other tutors would benefit from them.

Quiz Time! How well do you know your tags?

In a nutshell: Now that you’ve had a chance to get used to the new tagging system, it’s time for a quiz!

First, we want to commend everyone on the vibrant News Feed discussions so far. Great job! We look forward to seeing more of your contributions.

This quiz will test your understanding of the new tag system. It’s essentially a matching game, so if you’ve read the descriptions even once, you all should ace it on the first or second try! Please take it as soon as possible and no later than next Tuesday at 5PM Pacific Daylight Time.
