Tutor Survey, Tutor Spotlight, and Student Feedback Award

Tutor Survey

A primary goal for Yup is to increase student session volume. This way, our business will grow and we can assign you more scheduled hours. To encourage students to have more sessions, we offer these incentives.

We realize our incentives are imperfect:

  • Students try cheating the system by checking answers to problems over many sessions
  • Students stay away for long periods of time to increase session time

Thus, we’re aiming to revamp our incentives using the student engagement scores you assign to every session! Please fill out this survey by Friday, March 12 to provide your input on our next iteration on student session incentives. Thank you!

Tutor Spotlight

Congratulations to our tutor spotlight: Partha Sarathi Reddy Kamireddy! We were able to share this session with the whole team on Wednesday.

In the session, the student had some trouble understanding what the slope was.

After Partha taught the student that the slope was just -1, the student was not only able to complete a similar problem independently, but was also able to summarize his revised understanding. He even took it a step further to say, “how do negative and positive slopes tend to go? do positive slopes angle more upward to the right a d negative downward to the right?” This is amazing learning!

Next week, we will pick our next tutor spotlight. Please fill out the Tutor Spotlight Nomination form so we can continue to celebrate the amazing interactions you have with students! Reminder that there is a $25 reward for being featured!

Student Feedback Award

Congratulations to Roy Alexander for earning the Outstanding Student Feedback Award! This award is given to tutors who receive consistent, outstanding written feedback from students over several weeks along with demonstrating excellent overall performance.

Some of Roy’s exceptional student feedback comments:

  • “Thank you Mr. Alexander !! You were very clear and definitely helped me understand a topic I didn’t know much about. Thank you for being patient and not making me feel dumb either haha. Thanks again!!”
